Translated as "Staked Plains", Llano Estacado is a region that ranges from eastern New Mexico and northwestern Texas and is part of what was once known the Great American Desert. Covering all or part of 33 Texas counties, Llano Estacado winery formed in 1976 and broke out into the American wine scene by 1984. Raising the profile of Texas wines as a whole, this winery continues to grow and win awardss and accolades domestically as well as internationally.
