Pineapple Whip has been a Summer time tradition for over 40 years. In 1974 Dan Fortner created the original Pineapple Whip recipe and began selling it at the Ozark Empire Fair. His original recipe is the same one we use today. Years later his sons Chris and Mike Fortner and Mikes wife Diana took over the family business. Each summer, customers repeatedly asked why Pineapple Whip was only available at the Fair and not around town on a regular basis. Dan, Chris, Mike, and Diana listened to their customers, built mobile units, and took to the streets of Springfield during the summer months. Before his passing in 2014, Mike brought his son Zach on board to help run the business. Now three generations strong, the Fortner Family is proud to serve their tasty treats to all those who love summer.
