The original Bay St. Louis Little Theatre was located on Boardman Avenue for fifty-seven years. The Little Theatre was founded in the living room of John and Mary Bell in 1946. The couple had moved to Bay St. Louis from Connecticut and quickly adopted the town of Bay St. Louis and wanted to work to contribute to its positive growth. Their living room meeting included another founding member, Emily DeMontluzin. The Bells had determined that their new hometown needed a yacht club, a golf course, and a community theater. The Articles of Incorporation for the Little Theatre were submitted to the Secretary of State that year. Thus, the Bay St. Louis Little Theatre was incorporated in 1946.
