For over 74 years New Braunfels Smokehouse has been the place for smoked beef jerky, turkey jerky, spiral-sliced ham, peppered smoke turkey, and other smoked meats. Starting in 1943 as an ice place where locals would store extra food due to limited space in refrigerators, this smokehouse became a brewery, first, during the prohibition era. The owner would also smoke his neighbors meats and once word got around about the taste, the demand was so high that a restaurant was needed.
